Non US version of XP and Creator Owner Group

Hello,

I have a user running a non-US version of Windows XP, with a non-english langauge set and they are running into the issue of not being able to install my software due to a permissions error. They are logged onto the comptuer with an Administrator account. The actual error displayed is "An error occurred while applying security settings, CREATOR OWNER is not a valid user or group. This could be a problem with the package, or a problem connecting to a domain controller on the network. Check your network connection and click retry, or Cancel to end the install." Any and all help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Robert

Re: Non US version of XP and Creator Owner Group

Hello Robert and welcome to Advanced Installer forums,

It seems that this issue can occur on Windows operating systems that use a non-U.S. English language. As a workaround you can try to create a new user or group with the related name (CREATE OWNER) and see if the behavior still reproduce.

Please take a look on the following articles:
- Error 1609: received during installation
- Security seting problems

Let us know if this helped.

All the best,
Daniel
